I'm sure everyone knows about the .45 GAP since Glock realized that Americans wanted a .45 caliber, but their .45 ACP pistol was built on a 10mm frame, making the .45s larger than they needed to be. . Many people with medium sized hands and many with small hands have found Glock pistols in .45 ACP to have a grip circle that is not ideal for shooting. Because of this, the .45 GAP round was modified to be shorter, allowing Glock to cut the round grip down to a universally used size. The extreme grip gave police departments in need of a .45-caliber weapon the ability to provide officers with a gun on the popular Glock platform that was large enough to fit everyone.
